Armadillo wood carving made in Novo Airão, Brazil. These are very finely made wood carvings likely made from Itauba or Cumaru hardwoods (coloquialli known as Ironwood) found in the Amazon basin. These carvings have great detailing and character than most other ironwood carvings we have handled. Piece is marked on base "Novo Airao 28"
