A vintage Shipibo-Conibo polychrome pottery bowl from the Ucayali River region of the Upper Amazon in Peru, dating to the 1930's-40's. Hand formed and hand painted, the cream exterior is covered in the intricate symmetrical geometric designs Shipibo pottery is known for, painted in black and terracotta red, with a deep brown interior. Beyond its decorative appeal, the piece retains genuine signs of age including a natural resin finish. A lovely piece to display on a shelf or add to a collection of Indigenous art. In excellent pre-owned condition, with very gentle wear and no cracks, chips or repairs.
